Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

COURSE INFORMATION

ACLS involves simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation during learning stations where candidates have the opportunity to practice essential skills individually, in a team, and as a team leader.  Simulations reinforce the key concepts of:  Proficiency in basic life support care; recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions; managing cardiac arrest; identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes; recognizing other life-threatening clinical situations and providing initial care; ACLS algorithms; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

Course Curriculum Includes:  Management of tachy-arrhythmias like ventricular tachycardia and SVT's / Electrical synchronized cardioversion/ electrical blocks/ Transcutaneous Pacing (TCP) / Team dynamics in a resuscitation / Managing cardiac arrest (CPR) Post cardiac arrest care / Recognizing and managing stroke.

Entry Requirements:  Current BLS Certificate & Healthcare Provider

Course Duration: 1 1/2 Days

Course Validity:  2 Years

Course Accreditation:  American Heart Association (AHA)

CPD/CME Points:  30 points from the College of Medicine
